Purpose of 'Comments'

Comments from employee surveys are an invaluable source of qualitative insights. They provide additional context to your quantitative data and help you understand the root causes behind both well-being challenges and strengths in your organization.

Woba enables you not only to read comments - but also to respond to them, engage in anonymous dialogue, and take action. This helps increase engagement, foster psychological safety, and ensure that employeesโ€™ voices are heard and valued.

Use comments as your compass and make them the starting point for prevention, improvement, and follow-up.

1. Go to Woba Analytics and click on โ€˜Commentsโ€™
Youโ€™ll find โ€˜Commentsโ€™ in the left-hand menu of Woba Analytics.

2. Filter by the relevant survey and department
Use the filters at the top to select the survey and departments you want to view comments from.

3. Further filter comments by question or score

Select โ€œQuestionโ€ to view comments related to specific questions.

Select โ€œAllโ€ to view comments related to specific results or to see comments that have already been replied.

4. Read the comments and assess the insights
Each comment provides context and nuance โ€“ and can be the first step toward meaningful improvements.

5. Reply anonymously via Survey Chat
If Survey Chat is enabled, you can click โ€œReplyโ€ next to any comment. Your response will be sent to the employee, who will receive a notification that their comment has been answered - along with the name of the person who replied.

6. Export comments as a CSV file
For further analysis in tools like Excel or Sheets, click the download button in the top right corner to export the comments as a CSV file.

7. Use AI Copilot to analyze multiple comments
Click on "AI Copilot" in the left-hand menu to get a summary of common patterns, themes, and suggested actions based on the comments.

8. Take action
Once youโ€™ve identified focus areas and challenges from the qualitative data, you can create an action plan and share it with your employees to start addressing the issue.

  • Use Survey Chat actively: It creates dialogue, builds trust, and shows employees that their input is taken seriously.

  • Let AI Copilot help you get the overview: Especially useful when dealing with a high volume of comments. Use AI to identify patterns and suggested actions.

  • Export to CSV for further analysis in spreadsheets.


โ“ Frequently Asked Questions

Are the comments anonymous?
โ†’ If the survey is anonymous, employee comments are anonymous and the employeeโ€™s identity will not be visible - not even when responding via Survey Chat. If the survey is not anonymous, the comments will likewise be non-anonymous.

Can I reply to comments?
โ†’ Yes, via the Survey Chat feature. You can have a dialogue with the employee directly from your dashboard. The employee will remain anonymous, but they will see that you are the one replying.

Where do employees find my replies to their comments?
โ†’ In their own Woba account on the Employee Portal (๐Ÿ”—), accessible via desktop or the Woba mobile app available in the App Store. Employees receive a notification when their comment has been answered.

How do I enable Survey Chat?
โ†’ Survey Chat must be activated at the survey level. Contact your Customer Success Manager or support ife.

Who can see the comments?
โ†’ It depends on your access setup. People in your organization with Company Admin Access can choose which Department Admins are allowed to view the comments.
