Our Approach to “S” Compliance
To ensure that your Woba ESG questionnaire meets the EU's compliance requirements in the social (S) area, we recommend that the framework focus on a range of themes and personal variables that highlight social conditions and employee rights.

Social (Social Conditions): Is the “S” we will focus on.
The social component concerns how a company impacts people—both internally and externally. It covers areas such as:
- Department: To analyse differences in experiences and well-being across the organisation’s departments.
- Gender: Used to measure gender diversity and identify potential differences in salary, working conditions, diversity, inclusion, and well-being.
- Age: Assesses age diversity and potential differences in workplace experiences.
- Salary: Examines gender pay gaps.
- Job Level and Job Title: Differentiates between leaders and employees, or other internal job categories, to identify differences in working conditions and well-being.
- Employment Duration: Tracks how many years a person has been employed, providing insights into employee retention and well-being over time.
- Work Type: Full-time, part-time, temporary, or contract workers—to assess differences in working conditions and well-being.
- Nationality and Ethnicity: (Optional, depending on local legislation) Used to measure diversity in hiring and identify differences in employee experiences.
- Sick Leave and Employee Turnover: Helps calculate the financial impact of employee loss, whether voluntary or involuntary.
The “S” Weight in ESG Reports
Social factors in ESG reports are often highlighted to show how a company treats its employees and the broader community. Investors and stakeholders pay close attention to this, as poor social performance can damage a company’s reputation and potentially lead to legal or regulatory issues.
By including this information, the company can emphasise its social responsibility principles, demonstrate its positive contributions to society, and showcase how it cares for its employees.
